Covid-19 Safety Protocols

Following a thorough risk assessment, the parish has developed the following safety protocols based on advise from the BC Centre for Disease Control, guidelines from Provincial and Federal Health Authorities and directives from the Diocese of New Westminster.

▪︎ Identified high-risk, high-touch surfaces and items will be cleaned and disinfected on a frequent and regular basis.
▪︎ Items that cannot be sanitized will not be used. This includes Hymnals, the Book of Alternative Services and the Book of Common Prayer.
▪︎ Maximum attendance at a service will be 30. Visual markers such as directional signs and place markers will enable parishioners and visitors to be seated comfortably while maintaining safe social distance from others.
▪︎ Hand sanitizer is readily available, including in the narthex (entrance) of the church. It is requested that all parishioners and visitors sanitize their hands when entering the church.
▪︎ Parishioners and visitors are requested to wear non-medical masks when attending worship services so as to prevent any transmission to others. Individuals are requested to bring their own masks, however the church will have disposable masks available if needed.
▪︎ Greeters, in addition to welcoming people to church, will record the names and contact number of every attendee, at each service for contact tracing if required.
▪︎ There will be one bathroom available for use. As a high-risk, high-touch area, the bathroom will be cleaned and disinfected prior and post service. Those who use the bathroom are requested to wipe areas they have touched with sanitizer prior to exiting the bathroom. Sanitizer and paper towels will be provided.
▪︎ All individuals, including the clergy and wardens must refrain from attending worship services if they answer yes to any BC Covid-19 Self Assessment Tool questions. https://bc.thrive.health/covid19/en

During the Covid-19 pandemic, there is an inherent risk to social interaction, even when we, as a parish community, do our best to minimize the risk. Therefore we ask each parishioner and visitor to consider their own risk factors and comfort levels when deciding on attending a worship service.
